Acquired late last month from Leland's: 1929 Cienfuegos RPPC, featuring HOFers Willie Wells (back row, 2nd from left) and Cool Papa Bell (front row, 2nd from left). My first career-contemporary card of Cool Papa!! Tough one to knock off the want-list.

Steve - while not 'Babe Comes Home', there is a Babe Ruth short film as an in-advertised bonus on the DVD 'For Love of the Game' - very cool!

To access it, you have to answer several perfect game trivia questions - not real hard...and the short is worth the price of the DVD - IMO

Check it out!

Scott I will say the "Honii" are pretty sweet. Nice Clarke too. Congrats on those.

Some recent pick ups....

In 1931 Ruth hit .373 with 31 2b's, 46 HR's and 163 RBI's. Not a bad year.

Lefty had a pretty good year in 1930 as well. 28-5, 2.54 ERA and 208k's. Oh he also had 9 saves.

And a Greg Bussineau win last night...

Default A Damned Difficult Charles Gehringer

a really great ballplayer....just received the Worch.......added to the rest of what are probably the most difficult other Gehringers : the 1937 Detroit Tigers SubSet of the 1937 Type 5 R314 Goudey Wide Pen Premiums ( which is 88% Toronto and Montreal players) and his "Annis Furs Detroit Tigers Team Set" from 1933 or '34.....I still need the Sawyer Biscuit but I need to hit the lottery first....

Default T207 Speaker

Although the Speaker T207 says Tris Speaker bats right handed, the front of the card clearly shows him batting lefty.

I checked Baseball Reference and Tris Speaker was a lefty!

Here's the link:

Great pickups, Cole. Those T206s have strong eye appeal.

This Crandall I have been hunting since the 24th of August, and it finally turned up at a price I could afford. Jumbo borders and oversized cards are always up my alley

The Tenney is another card I have been looking for, but could never find. Mr. Scott G offered me this one at a price I couldn't say no to. Thank you Mr. G!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Nice cards - the Tenney is the "broken Y" version to boot.

Got 2 cards for Christmas. The Howell is from my uncle and the Brain from my dad. Very blessed to have family that respects my hobby interests.

I'm not sure if I agree with Dean's Cards' grade on the Howell (I think it's more of a 2), but oh well. Still a great card/gift.

Great cards, but just a reminder that Hal Chase, although a great player and interesting subject to collect, is not a Hall of Famer.
