Default Kellogg Collectors I Need Your Help

I'm tying to complete a list of all possible 1971 Kellogg BB Cards ( both "1970 Xograph" and "Xograph" backs. My question is : Did all the variations come with both backs ? If so, the maximum master set is 204. I have 152 different cards in my collection so I need to verify if the other 52 exist.

Please email or post if you have any of the following in your collection (hopefully the attachment works). I'll keep a tally and post results for all Kellogg Collectors.

Thanks for your time in this matter.

Yes - The "xxxxx" I have in stock. So I have the # 6 IP 2014 (Xograph) and # 6 ( IP 2015 - 1970 Xograph".
Based on your post , I thought you stated you have the 2014 and 2015 in 1970 Xograph only. Is this correct ? If not please inform.

Thanks Mike

I rechecked I have #6 perry 2014 xograph and #6 perry 2014 and 2015 1970 xograph....so 3 perry's total in set

I think there are closer to 175-180 cards total in master set not 204

Thanks for all the help. If any other Kellogg collectors would like to add input, email me at :theline06@hotmail.com

The total Master Set is now verified at 174, it may be a little higher but many of the variations did not appear to be issued with both 1970 xograph and Xograph backs. In theory 204 was the maximum possible, but at 174 the max. is getting close. I think your right AJG ( 175-180) range.

I'll put up the master chart if a few days after additional input. Thanks MIke

After all the research and help from fellow collectors it appears that a 1971 Kelloggs Master Set is complete at 176 cards ( 96 with "1970 Xograph backs" and ( 80 with "Xograph backs").
In my opinion the "toughest" five cards are ( in no particular order):

# 7 Alou ( 1970 Oakland NL)
# 28 Wright (Angles Crest Logo)
# 54 Johnson ( Angles Crest Logo)
# 64 Fregosi ( Angles Crest Logo)
# 70 Osteen ( No Number on back)

It appears that the first printing was ( 75 cards with "Xograph" backs, they stopped the presses and changed the 5 above cards, then made all 75 cards with the "1970 Xograph " backs and then stopped the presses and changed 21 cards).

See attached enclosed charts ( the empty spaces have not been verified, and I don't think they exist). If you have any of these please email me at :theline06@hotmail.com and I'll add to the list.

Thanks Mike

Default Pete Rose

Hi, I'm not sure if you have any interest in this, but I have a 1971 Kelloggs Pete Rose card. This isn't one of the Xograph cards. It looks to me like it may have been cut from the front or the back of a cereal box. The front is printed, not 3d, and the back is blank.

Update :

Two new variations to report that have been verified ( see attachment).
- 1970 Xograph # 2 Tom Seaver ( 1970 ERA 2.81) and # 41 Cito Gaston ( Runs 113 and RBI 122).

After all the research and help from fellow collectors it appears that a 1971 Kelloggs Master Set may be complete at 178 cards ( 98 with "1970 Xograph backs" and ( 80 with "Xograph backs").
In my opinion the "toughest" five cards are ( in no particular order):

Stephen: Thanks very much for the post. This is a great find and one that has never been reported to me before. I will add to the master list. I have both of the 486 RBI's but not the 485 variation. Based on all the other variations, it would appear that the 485 variation will not exist with the (Xograph-No date). But who knows ? This is fun.

Master Set appears to now be at 179

Thanks again Mike
