Default Jenkins Sons: The Team that (Kind of) Became the Negro League's Kansas City Giants

I wanted to share a rare photo with everyone.

The Jenkins Sons team played in Kansas City in 1906-1907 and were sponsored by the Jenkins Music Company. (The writing on my photo is incorrect.) The known ids are:
BACK ROW (L-->R): Unknown, unknown, Wesley Wilkins, Gertha Page, unknown, William Houston.
MIDDLE ROW (L-->R): Roy Dorsey, Tom Stearman, unknown, unknown.
FRONT ROW (L-->R): Ernest McCampbell, Arthur "Chick" Pullman, Tom McCampbell.
The Jenkins Sons team itself did not turn into the Kansas City Giants, but when Tobe Smith took the Giants pro in 1908, he signed a lot of players from the Jenkins Sons club: Frank Evans, Roy Dorsey, Bill Lindsay, Dudley “Tullie” Mc Adoo, Ernest Mc Campbell, Tom Mc Campbell, Arthur “Chick” Pullman, Tom Stearman and Wesley Wilkins.

Dudley “Tullie” Mc Adoo, Fred Lee, Bill Lindsay, Frank Evans, Ernest McCampbell, Tom McCampbell, Arthur Pullman, Tom Stearman and Wesley Wilkins had also played for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1907 and the early part of the 1908 season.

The information shared in this post is from an incredible document written by Dr. Layton Revel for the Center for Negro League Baseball Research, "Early Pioneers of the Negro Leagues: Tobe Smith". I highly recommend checking it out:

Very cool thanks for sharing.

I had a extremely long text chain last night with my father in law who was fascinated by some of history of the negro leagues. So much more to learn even for some who thinks they know baseball.

It really is amazing how deep the history of the game is and how much more there is that we still don't know.
