Default Laughlin World Series

I am confused with these. The back says 1968 but some folks say they came out later. Can some folks please enlighten me? Thanks

Blue back is 1970, black is 1971

It was a running set. They added a World Series card every year which makes the later years rarer and more valuable.

There were 3 sets first black and white fronts black backs then color fronts and blue backs referred to as 1970 set, Then color fronts Black backs referred to as 1971 set there were cards issued until 1977 with 1971 thru 1977 being scarce.
The 1968 date refers to the mlb copyright.
Hope this helps
Jonathan

Anecdotally, the story is told that the Fleer World Series 'update' cards (from 1971 and onward) were only available through Good Humor (I believe) ice cream trucks. People seem unsure if a single new card reflecting the previous fall's World Series was released each year or if all of them were put out together during the summer of '78(?).

Edited to add: This thread needs pics. Here's my Clemente...
