Default Top 10 E, M and T card portraits - HOF only

I have been working on a side project of $obtainable$ HOF portraits and really enjoying the hunt for the ones that are most recognizable to our hobby. I have my list completed but would like to get your oppinions with images and avoid T206 dominance by allowing no more than 3/10 coming from The Monster. Here's a few of my favorites that I've ranked by familiarity and appearance, excluding value as the primary factor in their ranking:

1. M116 H. Wagner
2. E95 Plank
3. T206 Tinker
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

Your title says E and T, but your number one card is an M card.
I too really like the e95 Plank and have had that on my want list.

I would take a T206 Evers portrait over a T206 Tinker portrait.

I struggled with that one and ended up with the Evers E95 in order to keep the Tinker.

It's up to you, but if you wanted to avoid T206s on the list, but still wanted the Tinker portrait in there, you could always go with the CJ Tinker (same portrait pose).

I think the Walter Johnson portrait belongs in there, whether you go with T206 or the more expensive T204.

I didn't bother ranking them and wanted to stay to only one card from any set and player:

1. e95 plank
2. E90-1 Young
3. E90-3 Evers
4. E96 Mack
5. m116 Wagner
6. e107 Joss
7. t206 Tinker
8. t204Brown
9. e145 Mathewson
10.t205 Mouth Closed Bresnehan

edited to add only based of aesthetic value, if it wasn't then Bresnehan wouldn't be on the list because he shouldn't be a HOF in my opinion.

Agree on the T206 Johnson, not only for a great card but also for Eric's "$obtainable$" in the OP (although I don't know what his "$obtainable$" =s ?) IMHO, a single T206 Johnson score would satisfy his statement of "three at the most T206" top heaviness, freeing him up for other types.

John,
All three of those cards suck. You should get them out of your collection immediately. Call me for help with that.

Not M, T, or E, but certainly an iconic card.

Some great suggestions and caused me to do some revisions already. But, where is Cobb and Lajoie?

1. M116 Wagner
2. E95 Plank
3. E90-1 Young
4. E90-3 Evers
5. T206 WAJO
6. CJ Tinker
7. T205 Matty
8. E104 Collins
9. T206 Cobb (Green Background) *Wankaticket's Cobb was inspiring and I need green on my sheet for background to balance out the red.
10.

*The e96 Mack is on honorable mention. I had not consider it.

I don't have one but the E90-1 Lajoie is a great looking portrait card. M116 Cobb is a nice portrait.

Thanks Jim. I have shown it too many times, just like this one Peter just pleaded me to post.....,but I never get tired of looking at beautiful cards. There are certainly some awesome ones in this thread. And I know you have some you never show that would be at the top of this list...

There are very few portrait cards of Tris Speaker, and with M116 priced way high, the T205 is likely the best option:

Wow! I'll update the list tonight after more responses have come in. It will be hard to narrow down to 10 with the additions of Speaker, Mack and Joss and I was already leaving out Brown and Chance who both have some great portraits. This may become top 20ish when I'm done. Please post your E104 Eddie Collins or E107 Joss if you have them.

I never noticed this before, but does Evers have a pocket on his shirt in the E-90-3 portrait? What's he supposed to carry in there, a fountain pen and some gum?

Puzzled by fashion,
Bill

If you need a Nap I would go with his T206, and would have to break my rule of 1 card per set and have him take the t205 spot.

Three of my favorites are from E95. Plank, Cobb, and Bender. Here's my Bender. I'm sure someone could put up a far better E95 Cobb than the one I have.

That's a gem. The white is ridiculously vibrant and makes the blue really pop out. I don't know if that port of Miner in it's normal color and condition would make my top 10, but yours would.

Default Final Tally

This list could not possibly satisfy everyone but it was extremely difficult to keep a top 10, especially being a Cubs fan. Here are my results and I am sad to say I only own 5 so I've got a very expensive journey ahead. Thank you all for your contributions to this thread and please keep showing your cards which is what it's all about.

No particular order:

1. Speaker - T205 / no secondary option at this time
2. Young - E90-1 / T205
