I received a couple of framed and matted pieces of Richmond Colt Team Photos I picked up over the last two years. My girlfriend did them herself and has a great talent for such things.I don't have a creative bone in my body unless it comes to cooking.Happy Holidays everyone.

My wife gave me season tickets to the Washington Nationals and my parents gave me a large card wall display case. I bought myself more cards.

I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old so, not the time for Christmas for Daddy. However, my wife did get me a hooded sweatshirt with the new Reading Fightin Phils logo (not the ostrich. yikes!), the Phillies renamed AA minor league affiliate. I live outside of DC, but, will hold my Philly sports allegiances to the grave.

I got a couple of eBay gift cards from the family. Guess I'll be shopping when I get home!

Loving my new T206 Joss (hands at chest) PSA 4. It's a beautiful looking card.

Default My Favorite Gift This Year....

I met the daughter-in-law of Jimmy Claxton on Christmas Eve. We had spoken on the phone many times before but finally met for the first time. She showed me a great deal of memorabilia of Jimmy's and her late husbands' who also played baseball in the States as well as Japan. It was a fantastic visit.

For those negro league collectors on net 54.... there is another "card" of Jimmy Claxton. Saw it on the visit. A 1932 PC of Jimmy playing for the Cuban Stars, the card is very nondescript; no name, and Claxton has a full beard (a rarity). IMHO a far better depiction of the southpaw than the 1916 Zeenut.

I got a gift card that I turned into "Baseball's Golden Age" and "The Big Show," two books of Conlon photographs (very cool, if you haven't checked them out). Plus a '54 Topps Hodges (sentimental favorite).

Default Christmas 2012

My wife usually contacts and orders a card from Leon after I've given her a list of three or four cards that he has for sale. She's done this four or five times in the past. This year, however, a card being sold by Lou Brown in early November came up on the BST. I told her I was interested in the card and she decided to get that one for my Christmas present. It arrived only a few days later and my wife held on to it until Christmas Day. She's a beauty, both my wife and the card!
