Default A New T...

Not a card but a shirt. Hoping to get some on order by next week and wanted to solicit some feedback. There will be several different colors. The cost on them looks to be around 20 bucks? plus shipping. I am still shopping for better pricing but for all of the colors it's a bit more. And I might make the Net54baseball logo on back a bit bigger, to be more proportianate. Not sure about that, but am thinking this design was a crowd favorite before....

I like the image on the back, but don't like it on the front. Feel like it is overkill. Can it just say Net54 on the front?

Of all the different images that one was the only one I didn't like. I really like the 1959 Fleer Ted Williams wrapper. Sadly most of Teds cards are not the nicest looking but the wrapper is quite nice. I don't remember Ted being on a shirt before.

Edit to add I am with Bobby on the image only being on the back.

Agree with name on front only. My opinion, pictures should be Ruth, Hounus, Ted and Mantle for better recognition

I like the relative obscurity of it. I don't know if we need to highlight Ruth and Gehrig and the most well-known players. We are a bunch of baseball card nerds--we don't need to cater to the masses.

To us, these early baseball heroes are the Beatles.

i also agree...no pic on front. back would be even better eliminating the dead space...the rectangle and die cutting the guys...imho.

Another vote for no pic on the front.

While I'm "voting" here, I also think the back would look better with much less dead space.

If we're going for an obscure "we're card nerds" image, perhaps this one:

They will be available in a thread I will post, once I get them. The front picture is going to be gone. I am working on getting a silouhette of the picture so it looks better. I have a white one but will need some help for the other colors...some poor pics...

Great choice Leon, just spitballin' here and keeping with the Beatles theme I'd love to see the Abbey Road album cover with Shoeless Joe as Paul McCartney.

100% agree. Just n54 on the front

Count me in for a white or blue n54 shirt once they are ready.

Great work Leon!

I will surely buy a 2XL once the colors and sizes are chosen.

I will probably seek someone out that can stitch my net54 id on the front near the net54 logo.

They are about double the price but are nice polos. Minimum order is 6 and I will probably order that many, special request only (and some for me)... I will get pics of a few different options and show them...

Are you going to order a burgundy color for the T's? I'd be looking for a few XL burgundy color shirts. I remember that contrast for the original shirt. Heck, I'd love to have a couple of the original shirts in XL.

Those look great....is that front logo gonna look really huge like it does in the image there, or is that just for illustrative purposes......PS - I'll take the white one, in XL.

I can change the size. We'll see.
I will be calling the company today/tomorrow to talk about some stuff. White will be one of the colors. Once we get settled on this, there will be 1 more thread to place your orders in. I am NOT going for the cheapest shirts. I only want to wear nice, heavy, 100% cotton shirts. Other fabrics make me itch.

Some updates....

FYI, here is the quote I recieved for 100 T shirts, and 12 Polos, so far.

Quote for "logo3"
3 Color Front | 8 Color Back
Item 1. Hanes Authentic T-shirt -- Safety Green
M: 20, L: 20, XL: 20 @ $20.15
2XL: 20 @ $22.65
Item 2. Hanes Authentic T-shirt -- White
M: 5, L: 5, XL: 5 @ $18.65
2XL: 5 @ $21.15
Total Quantity: 100
Subtotal: $2,047.50
Applicable tax will apply during checkout. $168.92 Order Total: $2,216.42 Free shipping to Allen, TX (75002)

And below is a quote for 12 polos:

Quote for "polo1"
2 Color Front | 5 Color Back
Item 1. Gildan Hammer Pique Polo -- White
XL: 6 @ $49.72
Item 2. Gildan Hammer Pique Polo -- Red
XL: 6 @ $49.72
Total Quantity: 12
Subtotal: $596.64
Applicable tax will apply during checkout. $49.22 Order Total: $645.86 Free shipping to Allen, TX (75002)

So the T's will be $20 + shipping each (I am eating all of the taxes), as I am not going to nickel and dime them. The desingn on back won't be crooked The amount of colors in the design is greater than normal, which is why the increase in cost, plus these are nicer, heavier Ts...(don't worry Bobby, they are only about 1.9oz heavier than the others.)

The polos, while pricey at $50, are actually embroidered, I am told. They are not transfers. The sales rep recommened doing the screen print on the polos, to save money, but while screen printing on Ts is fine, it might look kind of cheesy on a Polo?
I think that could drop their price around $12? each.

That said, the embroidery won't be as pinpoint accurate as the screenprint. I think our niche of collectors will know them but not others. I am not sure I care about that. Plus, it's the same cost to have only the name on back vs the name and the Sgt. Peppers design, on back. Still an option to only have name on back, cost doesn't go down though.

Shipping looks to be about $6 USPS....however, this company will ship as many to one address as we want, for $9.95. That could save me a lot of time .....
Lastly, I am going to probably take checks or Paypal Goods and Services (yuck on getting a Paypal 1099, but whatever, I keep records)....

It looks like USPS shipping is going to be about $6 each. This company will ship as many as we want, to 1 address for $995. So if a member orders 3 t- shirts, it's still only $9.95 to ship all of them.

I haven't finalized colors yet but am leaning towards white, red, green and safety yellow......all subject to change ....

Please put me down for (2) XL of safety green and (1) XL in white. If you happen to do another color scheme, please let me know. If it's burgundy, then put me down for (2) XL of those also.

Looks great Leon.

There are 25 mediums listed above but I won't order that many. In my experience cotton shrinks over time. I might order 5? mediums and the rest larger.
**Also, the Safety Green color, which I like a lot, is a 50/50 cotton polyester. You can't get that bright with a regular color. The rest will be all cotton..
Once again, I think a there will be several members that want one so I will start a thread soon, once I finalize stuff. thanksi!

(and thanks for the kind words)

And a card of one of the players....

In the upcoming T reservation thread there can be indiviual requests for larger sizes, or you can PM me.
Most of the colors go up to 4x. I will not buy any 4x's that aren't already spoken for. I will get a few extra 3x's....and many more of the smaller sizes...
I will probably get about 5 colors, White, Red, Yellow, Lime Green, Safety Green (these could change)......as mentioned, all 100% heavy duty cotton, except the 50/50 Safety Green.
.

Quick update. I should have a thread today with ordering forms going straight to Custom Ink, the company doing these. These forms will be open for 10 days, then closed and the shirts will be printed and shipped. The Polos and the T shirts are completely different orders so we can't combine a T shirt and Polo, and get one shipping charge from them. Even if I get them I think it's going to cost a bit more than 6 bucks to ship 2 shirts...(If I ship them together). They said they could collect monies but I prefer to collect them and pay for the order, all at once, when the links close.

There are 5 colors for Ts and 3 colors for the Polos....and I changed the polos as the new ones have a much better collar. Still all cotton...

I look forward to wearing some new shirts soon. Thanks for the conversation and feedack.

and a Matty card as he's in the pic on the shirts (please disregard Alexander, he gets no respect anyway)
