Default Bowman Pee Wee Reese overprint

Hello:

does anyone have any of these? Picked up it for the strange back. Wondering how many collectors actually care about the back looking so disrupted. Any thoughts

I bought one of those (a common) with the same overprinted back as a companion piece. There seems to be a fair supply of these available.

Uncut sheets double printed on the back aren't uncommon either.

Default 1949 Bowman overprinted backs

I have all 36 overprinted backs of the cards that are on the 1st sheet of 36 cards (as Anthony alluded to).
I also have 14 very, very rare Hi numbered cards that are overprinted.

I picked up a full sheet on eBay 8 years ago thinking at the time it must be a fairly rare item (I dont collect Bowmans much).
Then after researching it a bit, and seeing others just like my sheet, found out that these double printed back sheets are fairly common for the age.

I think far more common than a normal printed 1949 sheet.

I dont think your card or any of these double printed back cards ever made it into a pack of gum, they are most likely all cut from printer scraps.

I guess someone got into the dumpster and retrieved a ton of them back in 1949.

There are also a lot of 1941 Play Balls with upside down misprinted backs too, and these are also cut from printer scraps.
