Default 1936 Negro League Broadside

This may be one of my best ebay purchases. A broadside from a 1936 game between the Monarchs and the Homestead Grays. To me the most interesting part is that it was used for a expense ledger by the Grays staff- most likely Bill Evans. On the front the number of tickets sold is listed and the back details the expenses for ticket takers (3 @ 2 dollars per) I find it amazing that were are talking about organiztions that had Hall of Fame players and they bascially had to use scrap paper for an expense ledger.

Please post some of your Negro League finds

I just won it on ebay last week- it was being sold as a part of the estate of Bill Evans a member of the Grays who moved to the front office after his palying days. I paid $76.00 and think that I got a steal

Great broadside Jason! You did get a great deal.

I have shown this magazine many times before and always offer to send a copy, either electronically or on a CD-R, if someone want to see the whole thing.
