Default 2009 Topps T-206 - a very cool Cobb

As most of ya'll are aware, later this year, Topps will be producing a T-206 set to commemorate this prolific card set. I read about it earlier in the year, but didn't take much notice - till now.

If you look below, you'll see one of the insert "cards" being produced for the T-206 set (a cut-signature book card):

Absolutely beautiful in my opinion. I cannot say if the Cobb "bat on shoulder" is an authentic card, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.

I still disagree with the fact that they "cut" out his auto to make a "card," but it sure is pretty.

Barry Halper housed some of his best cards, including the signed 1933 Goudey Lajoie, in custom little books. I thought they book idea was cool.

The custom book is very cool.

I really enjoyed the Topps 206 release a few years back, but I think I may not dump as much cash into it this time around.

Nice way to celebrate the Centennial of T206 though.

I agree that it looks nice and is a nice way to present the two items. Hopefully no altered or fake cards/ autos find their way in though...

Also, I'm sure these will be going for Large $, like other cut signature cards. Personally, I wouldn't spend any/much more on a cut signature that's made into a card than a regular cut sig or 3x5. I can see a small premium on them since they present well. However, many times these cut signature cards go for many times more than what an authentic cut is worth. You also get a smaller cut in the cards. To each his own though. I'd rather see this than a cut up Cobb jersey or bat card.

I probably won't buy any of the new product but the book idea looks nice. It's also more of a nicer fuller "cut" by the photo, than the standard "cut" card slivers.
