Default OT - Finished Project

As a kid I attended my first baseball (and football) games at Griffith Stadium in Northwest Washington, DC. A few years ago, I picked up a couple of seats in a Huggins & Scott auction. The story goes that, upon demolition of the stadium, a portion of the seats was removed and used at Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland. The were repainted from the original green to a shade of yellow.

I finally got around to restoring them to the original color and here is the result. Thanks for sharing my nostalgia.

awesome Ken! They look great!

(may be a dumb question, but oh well) Do you plan on using them, or will they be for display-only in a hobby room?

Rob

Really nice, Ken. Now you can relax, and recall when you were younger sitting in those 'same' seats.

Thanks Rob. I don't really have an appropriate place in the house so they will stay outside exposed to the elements, as they have been over the years. They are anchored to 4x4s which are in trenches I dug so they would be a ground level. I intend to plant some grass around and underneath to spruce things up a bit.

They will be used as seating in the garden for when we have friends over for a barbacue or, occasionally, I might bring a small TV out on a nice night and watch a ball game for old time's sake.

Really neat, Ken.... All you need now are a couple old ticket stubs from the stadium...

Very nice!!! I would love to have a couple of Wrigley seats to watch Cubs games from. Problem is, I rarely "watch" a game. I usually listen to it on the radio so I can be getting something else done at the same time.

Very neat idea though, part of that stadium is now part of your yard.

Hi Ken - Well done!! When I come over for a barbeque, I'll bring my Griffith Stadium World Series ticket stubs for show and tell.
Best,
Val

I know this is sacrilege to many, but thought I'd post it anyway. (When else would I)?? I'd much prefer to own the seats intact! Really cool, Ken!!!
