Default Greetings (intro)/request for advice/sale

Greetings all. Just found this site. Recommended to me while completing a deal with Rick (rctmf) for a couple of Silk 74 HOF's I had.

Forgive me if I step out the lines here, not a hundred % on the rules.

Like most kids from the 60s, we put our sports cards in our bike wheels and pitched cards during recess...and of course when I got back around to the idea of collecting in my mid-late 30s my mom said she'd thrown out all of my old cards - ouch!

I've done disaster relief work for the last 30 years as an independent insurance adjuster following hurricanes, tornados, fires and floods around the country. Got into buy lots of comic book collections. Was up to 75k books when my wife said I go or they go. Down to 12k books and have switched back to mostly collecting sports cards. At 62, my mid-life crises plays itself out not in chasing women or buying that convertible 67 GTO but buying packs and boxes of baseball cards, sometimes collections.

I've got some really cool old bound newspaper volumes of the Wilmington Morning Star from 1924 to 1940. They have about 3 months of the daily paper - lots of illustration for the adverts, comics, sports pages, etce. I have 10 left. Put one up about 5 years ago and it sold for $150 in 10 minutes. Any thoughts on how to maximize sale of all but one of these? Cut out pages and ads? Where to sell, etc.

Anybody sell comics on this site?

Finally, I just pulled a SSP of Ronald Acuna, Jr 4th of July 2019 Gypsy Queen. A little tired of e-bay fees. Is that something anyone would be interested in here or another site?

Thanks for your read. Regards,

Terry

Modern cards will sell better on COMC or Blowout forums. COMC takes comic books, but only ones they consider "family friendly"; so depending on the themes, contact them in advance before you try selling them.

Oh, what a difference a year makes.
