It's an Asian walnut. They are quite rare as the trees went extinct in the 1910's due to some sort of blight. Because they are sometimes large and can be amazingly symmetrical, they are often confused with antique cricket balls.

I am not a baseball ball guy but it doesn't really look like one to me. I definitely could be wrong though. Maybe someone will know for sure?
