Default Which Sovereign back is more uncommon?

I know most people say 460, but I have found the 150 series to be tougher. Dark green 350 is most definitely the easiest....

I know this isn't a large sample size, but I have 20 Sovereign cards:

2 - 150
10 - 350
8 - 460

So, 10% are 150
50% are 350
40% are 460

The 460 is generally accepted as the most uncommon and usually goes for a premium over the 350 or 150. I'm not a sovereign collector but have ended up with about 25 460's in my set and only have about 10-15 150's. Some of the 460's like Devore, Tannenhill, Geyer seem to always be available.

I've had a tougher time locating the 150s than the 460s.

Default Sovereign Census

I currently have the following Sovereigns

7 Sovereign 150s

11 Forest Green Sovereign 350s

5 Apple Green Sovereign 350s

9 Sovereign 460s

Statistically I would hesitate to draw any conclusions from this sample.

Default T206 SOVEREIGN cards

Here are all my SOVEREIGN's (402 different cards....Complete set)......

Cards...................Series

150...................SOVEREIGN 150

140...................SOVEREIGN 350 (Forest Green)

66.....................SOVEREIGN 350 (Apple Green)

46.....................SOVEREIGN 460

And the,
6 super-prints......SOVEREIGN 460

NOTE
The SOVEREIGN 350 (Forest Green) cards are more plentiful than the others.
And, the 6 super-prints with the SOVEREIGN 460 backs are the toughest.

Hey Kevin
Which...." Sovereign back is more uncommon? "

It has been my experience collecting the Sovereign cards that any of the Apple Green (66 subjects) are usually tougher than the others.

Furthermore, it's my opinion (based on my collecting experience) that the toughest Sovereign cards are these 6 super-prints with the SOVEREIGN 460 back.

Default The "Exclusive 12" in the SOVEREIGN 460 series

Hey guys

For those of you are who are saying that the SOVEREIGN 460 cards are the toughest....I have to differ with you, because not all of the SOVEREIGN 460 cards are tough.
These 12 cards in the SOVEREIGN 460 group are definitely not as tough as the other 40 cards (34 + the 6 super-prints) cards that were printed with the SOVEREIGN 460
backs. It is obvious that these 12 cards that I refer to as the "Exclusive 12" were Double-Printed (or Triple-Printed) with respect to the other 40 subjects that were prin-
ted with the SOVEREIGN 460 backs.

.

I agree Ted, there's no question, the Green Apple Sovs are a much tougher card to track down as a general rule. If only I can get my hands on a Apple Green red portrait and Bat Off Cobb, I would be a happy man!

Hey Ted,

Were these 12 cards double or triple printed in other backs as well, or just Sovereign 460?

of the 14 cubs sovereigns i have (most of which came from the same original collection) there are:

150 :2
350 candy : 5
350 forest: 4
460: 4

From the original batch of about 80 that i had there was about 17 460's. Unfortunatly I didnt keep track of the 150's. Nearly a 1/4th of this collection were 460's though

These 12 - T206 subjects are more available with respect to other T206's printed with AMERICAN BEAUTY 460, Red HINDU, and SOVEREIGN 460 backs.

Furthermore, these 12 guys are the only T206's in the 460-only series that were printed with Red HINDU backs and SWEET CAPORAL Factory #42 backs.

These 12 guys were NOT printed with LENOX backs, nor PIEDMONT 460 Factory #42 backs.

For more info regarding these 12 cards....check out these two threads............

Ted you need to write a book or blog compiling your data and research. I'd buy a copy.

Cobb Bat Off Sov 350 apple SGC 40 finished at $1625 on Ebay tonight. Considerably less than what it was being peddled for and I think sold for on BST a week prior to when it was listed on Ebay.
