100) CY YOUNG POSTCARD PHOTO SIGNED ON REVERSE Unique postcard photo of Young posed with his dog. Measures 3 1/4 x 5 1/2. Signed large and bold on the reverse in fountain pen. There is a faint white line under the signature that separates the signature of the writing of the original collector which reads "Belongs to Rev. H. Harold Davis Bowerston, Ohio" coincidentally Bowerston Ohio is only several miles away from Cy Young's lifelong home in Peoli Ohio. I've never seen this photo before and it could possibly be a one of a kind photo. Cy Young's baseball record is unquestionably one of a kind. Over a 22 year career 1890-1911 he compiled an amazing 511 wins including three no-hitters and the first perfect game of baseball's modern era in 1904. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as one of the original five inductees. He died in 1955. $1,650.00

Fusselback writes to fellow major league baseball player Bob Allen. Content is great and it talks about the Sporting News coming out with the batting averages for the year and how they got "Slighted" Interesting in that the players had no idea what their batting averages were until Thanksgiving after the season. He mentions players by name and even mentions a young Billy Hamilton. He writes about various players and who they have signed with including a player signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He refers to the upcoming season with the "Players League" coming into formation and he mentions how weak he thinks the National League will be. He also mentions that A.J. Reach is interested in Allen and will receive a letter from him. Allen did in fact sign with Reach during the off season and would be his team Captain. An awesome piece of baseball history on the verge of the formation of the Players League. An extremely rare autograph in any form. He was a pitcher and catcher in the Major Leagues from 1882-1888 he would play for the St. Louis Browns, Baltimore Monumentals, Philadelphia Athletics & Louisville Colonels. He died after shooting himself three weeks after his brother Bill also killed himself in 1926. $950.00

Hoblitzell" Content mentions what he did with his day as the game for that day was rained out reads in part "At 8:15 pm I was at the Park Sq. theatre to see "Fair and Warmer" it was a good comedy the ballplayers were invited" The rest of the letter deals with intimate terms of endearment. Hoblitzell played 1st base in the Major Leagues 1908-1918 for the Reds & Red Sox. He was the National League leader in at bats in 1910 & 1911 and Cincinnati's MVP in 1911. Mack writes "Dear Hughy, Yours of the 29th received. Pleased to hear from you. Some time ago I gave Mr. McCaffery the preference over all other clubs to secure McAvoy, Kopp and Geary they were the three players whom I felt would help any club in the International League. Baltimore has secured McAvoy and the Seattle club has secured Geary and Kopp. Am very much in doubt now if I have any players that I can spare that would be of any help to you. My man here in the office says that you should secure Bankston, outfielder and Hallas outfielder (Likely a reference to future Football Hall of Famer George Halas) they are with the American League club in New York and no doubt could be secured. Wish you every success and if I find that I can hand you anyone that will help your club will do so later on.
