Default Grading of T201 Meccas

Posted By: Steve Dawson

Does anyone know if SGC or PSA will slab T201s "folded over" so, for instance, Ty Cobb's full image is shown on the front?

Steve,

I'm sure if you made the request that either grading company might do it. I've only seen one graded this way. PSA folded it and encapsulated it. I'm sure it wasn't per a special request. I bought it on ebay because it made me laugh really hard when I saw it. Personally, I wouldn't make the request because I'd rather see the entire card, even if it's a full picture of Crawford rather than Cobb. What were those people thinking back then? They should have put Cobb on the front . <-- Added the smiley face because there are a few people that would have thought I was serious about the last comment.

Thanks Fred...

I've wondered for years about why they stuck Cobb on the back of the card. Didn't they know how good he was gonna be?

I seem to vaguely remember recently seeing a couple T201s in GAI slabs that had been folded over, but I've gone back and looked and haven't been able to find them. Maybe I was just dreaming; I have had some weird dreams lately!

I just got the idea in the last couple of days that it might be nice to collect the hall of famers in the set, and have two of each...one folded over and the other not. I don't know...I could always collect them au naturale

Here's a scan of a PSA graded T201 that was encapsulated in the folded position. I removed the cert number for my own reasons.
