Default SGC vs PSA

Posted By: Neal

I have a bunch of T201 Mecca double folder cards that I would like to have graded. Once graded I am planning on selling them on EBAY. Which grading company do you feel will bring more $$$$$ for my graded SGC or PSA.

Thanks

There will be those that will say PSA always outsells SGC, but that gap has narrowed in recent months/years, at least with respect to pre-war cards, to the point that I would guess SGC sometimes outsells PSA. But you really could not go wrong with either if your purpose is to flip and sell. If you are interested in a long-term value in your pre-war cards, I would say SGC is the only way to go at this time. PSA has been very inconsistent in their grading of pre-war cards.

I would agree with T206... if your purpose is for selling asap..i'd give the edge to PSA ... hoping that they grade it acurately...in otherwords...i think you have a better chance of getting the right grade with SGC... but if you are able to get the equivalent grade from psa..that will probably bring in a bit more.

If your T201's are very high grade and you think they have a shot at getting a 7 or 8, go with PSA because more set registry people will fight over them. If they are middle grade go with SGC because vintage collectors hold them to a higher standard.

those black backround holders are so cool when you look at them sitting on the toilet caddy bookshelf when facing the lid!

They are smart looking holders at that. Too many of my PSA cards slide around in that oversized mylar while my SGC's fit snugly. Hate that sliding around.
