Default Questions about National Chicle cards

Hey all, im relatively new to anything earlier than 1952 and have ran across a couple of R312 National Chicle Premiums while sifting through ebay. I like the cards look and the sepia (i think that is the correct word) tone of the cards.
There are only a few of them on eBay at the moment and I cant google search anything to find out more info.
Can anyone here shed some light on this set?

Here is a link to some information on the Old Cardboard site about the set. It includes a set checklist and images of some of the cards.

The R312s are a premium. They are printed on thin paper making them more like a paper pin up picture than a cardboard card. They are not rare but not highly regarded or popular which can make tracking down a specific example a little difficult. If you follow R312 in Cards on ebay you can pick up any that show up that you like. Depending on player and condition you can pick up most that come up for auction for less than $50. I am no expert but I appreciate the affordability of these premiums compared to the more sought after cards of the era.

Key rookie cards include Joe DiMaggio and Johnny Mize! They are moderately scarce and hard to find in high grade. PSA especially is known to grade them harshly.

Have fun with them,

Larry

The Dimaggio is a great looking card in the series and one I have always thought about acquiring. Maybe in Collection II.....The R312s are a great and mostly inexpensive (relatively speaking) set with lots of HOF'ers.
