Default Question about Joe Cronin bat?

I purchased this Joe Cronin Bat today at an antique mall and was wondering about it's date. The oval center brand with "Trade Mark Reg US Pat Off" was
supposedly used from 1916-1929. The "Powerized and Oil Tempered" stamp was supposedly only used from 1933-1934. How can they be on the same bat. The bottom of the bat is stamped with "35". By the way, the asking price for this bat was $16.95

Dave,
Nice bat. I hope you didn't let them ding you for the full asking price!

John,
I thought about offering them $15 but took the high road and paid full pop.

Come on bat experts and give me an opinion on the labeling.

I have the Powerized labeling as being used from 1932-34. I know that there were a few different centerbrands used around that same time. I'm sure somebody else can chime in, but I would think 1932-34 would be a safe assumption. Also, the knob markings mean it is a retail bat, but you can't go wrong at that price. Nice pick-up!

Chris,
I didn't think that the label "Powerized" was used on retail bats. "Flame tempered" was the retail label. The "35" cut into the bottom represents the
bats length.

It was my understanding Flame Tempered appears on store bats of lower quality wood.
Where's Matt? He can set us straight.

Flame Tempered started appearing on store bats in the 60's.

This bat is circa 1932-34. The 125 is a good quality wood. H&B was producing 40JC's at the time which would be lower quality wood.

The bat looks extremely nice and a bargain at that price. Congrats.
