Default Cracker Jack Johnson, authentic?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

I bought the above card, thinking it was authentic, given the seller's record and his assertion of it being so.
I just read his semi-disclaimer at the bottom.
Now, it still looks good to me, but I'd appreciate the expertise of some Cracker Jack collectors.

Thanks.

Doug

PS: I don't know how to post the scan of this card. If you know how, please do; I'd like to show it.

Unfortunately, it's reprint.

Default not so good

The backs of the 1915's are printed upside down in relation to the fronts. You bought a fake.

here is what the seller said in his response to the one question listed in the auction

" The cards I have for sale have reverse printed upright (same orientation as front). In comparison to pictures of graded cards on ebay, the photo appears the same. "

"if you have any doubt, do not bid".

He says that right in his answer to the question! It's not good when someone says not to bid in their auction....

Also, asking that "Archive" guy before bidding is never a bad idea.

unfortunately....it is a fake.

there were also some graded CJ's from some seller from a CSA or KSA grading company from Canada. Those looked to be reprints too but were not listed as reprints.

Default Money refunded

Thanks all for your input.
The seller apologized and cancelled the sale and refunded my money.
I believe it was an honest mistake.

Aside from the backs not being printed properly, were there any giveaways that this was a reprint?

Thanks again.

Doug

to me...the type of paper did not look the same as an authentic card. The reprints look to have more corner rounding.

I noticed that some of those cards all have wear in the same places

Color of the paper and the ink of the name both would have caused me grave concerns.

Default Well

He did list it as an original in the Description Area so you might have a case through Ebay to reverse your winning bid.All cards must be listed as original/reprint when selling on Ebay. That block only has two options.

The buyer (OP) already said he got a refund...It certainly was a misleading auction, intentional or not.
