I collect Danbury. To me, they are the most lifelike and best quality of the modern statues. Due to space concerns. I have 4 that I'll either sell or consign. If anyone here is interested, I can make them available to any forum member for prices well below market.

I have these 4 available...

Johnny Bench
Ken Griffey Jr. (as a Red)
Tony Gwynn
Derek Jeter

All are NRMT or better. If you want pics/prices, please just shoot me a PM.

Thanks!

I collect Danbury Mint, McFarlanes and Starting Lineups. I even have two Southland Bronze statues which are quite rare. I primarily collect Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Pirates.

I collect Hartland, Gartlan, Salvino, Romino, and Southland figures, boxes, tags, COAs, etc., and I also collect 1963 Hall of Fame busts.

I also collect the 1963 statues. I have the complete set and just consigned a bunch of duplicates to Robwrt
Edwards including some of the Series 2. I also do collect the McFarlanes and where I can I affix a cheap modern day ( not playing day) autograph to them cut from a card.

The Southland bronzes are the best of the lot, IMO, and such a mysterious issue. If they ever fully went into production, it couldn't have been for long, there's just so few of them around.

Here’s the Bronzes that I have, Roberto Clemente and Honus Wagner. I believe that there were less than 200 made of each. They’re heavy, about 5-7 lbs each.

IMHO, Southland Bronzes are the very rarest and best of all the modern figural statues. Top quality and exceptional poses. Here are some of mine...

1. The Mick, The Great One, The Babe, The Shoeless One, The Christian Gentleman
2. The Big Train
3. The Flying Dutchman
4. The Georgia Peach

No way to know for sure, but it's my impression that there are far less than 200 of any of them, maybe as few as a dozen or so for some, a few dozen for others, but not a lot out there. They were priced at a thousand dollars originally, and the advertising stopped abruptly after the initial rollout in SCD. I think they probably made them to order, and when the sales didn't come in as expected, they bailed on the project. In any case, whatever the circumstances, they are a treasure and not easy to find.

Great info! I had never even heard of these things. Is there a checklist of what was made? I’d love to see an original SCD ad.

I know some of you still have all your SCD’s!
