Default Is this collection "new"?

... or is it one that has been known for years in the collecting circle? It sure sounds like a good one!

"These T206 cards all feature advertisements for a variety of tobacco products made by Duke's monopoly, with one notable exception: a very rare issue of a Ty Cobb portrait with the slogan "Ty Cobb, King of the Smoking Tobacco World" on the reverse. Other scarce issues from this set include the famous Honus Wagner card, an Eddie Plank issue, and an array of variants and misprints, all of which make it nearly impossible for collectors to complete the set. The Russell collection contains 497 different cards and variants from the T-206 set, an amazing accomplishment for a juvenile collector and a testament to the tenacity of the young Russell."

-----

At first glance, I thought they were saying that HIS "set" contained ALL of those rare T206 variations ...

but perhaps they were just saying that the "T206 set" contains those cards and that his 497 cards do not necessarily include those rare variations?

Question ANSWERED:

"Some of the rarest T-206 cards are included in the Russell collection, including an extremely scarce misprint of a Joe Doyle card and an equally uncommon Ty Cobb portrait featuring the slogan, "Ty Cobb, King of the Smoking Tobacco World," on the reverse. While two of the other most valuable cards from this set - the fabled Honus Wagner card and the very scarce Eddie Plank card - are missing from the Russell collection, almost every other card produced in this series is present, often in multiples. The majority of cards are in very good condition."

I thought initially that they were saying that he had a Ty Cobb back, a Honus, a Plank... and a Doyle!!

I see now that he does not.

Do you?

If so ... send them to me and I will create your web site for you!!!
