Default Such a rare card

Does anyone else laugh and get sick of the way sellers tout their cards as "very rare" when it's one of the more common cards from a certain era. This one is another great ebay sale. I hope I'm not "outing" something with one day to go... I just cringe when I read the word "rare" applied to a card that isn't. Yeah, this topic has been covered a hundred times already....

RARE!!!

Default Yep

Most likely the second most over/misused word in the hobby, right behind "undergraded."

The description says "very rare". I guess in some relative situation it is very rare compared to something else....Maybe an '84 McGuire rookie?

I got beat up on a little for a similar post where I used an example of a tough card that was listed as "rare". I think that the definition is so subjective, nobody is truly wrong so it's just part of the process now. I actually started changing my initial search to include "-rare" with my "-RP -Reprint" in the search field. When a seller uses the word "tough" then I start to pay attention.

You have to remember "EBAY " tips are to use the word "Rare", "scarce" and others to make your listing stand out. So, I don't find it that unusual.
