I also read that.
My guess is on the blade that cuts the cards one side is flat and one side has an angle, the side with the angle would roll that edge a bit but only on the left or right and top or bottom, because say if it cuts the top edge first the angle part of the blade makes that cut and causes the roll and for the bottom cut the flat side of the blade is making that cut so there is no roll.
