It didn't enter my mind.....but, you are very right how Ty Cobb and Joe Jackson were similar in certain respects.....

They grew up not to far from each other.

They both stood 6:1

They both threw right-handed and batted left-handed

They both started off as Right Fielders

They both struggled in the Majors their 1st (or 2nd) year

However.....

Their personalities differed quite significantly.
