I am constantly fascinated and impressed by the variety of careers described in this thread.

My own accomplishments have been meager by comparison.

Last July 4, I posted the following:

I really never knew what I was doing when I was doing it...

...and I am so glad to not be doing whatever it was any more.

Retirement is a good fit for me...just wish I was healthier so I could really enjoy it.

For all of you that served our country, my sincere thanks and appreciation!

- I will add to that by admitting that the larger part of my 'adult' life I spent between being a semipro LHP and struggling college student and trying to use retail management to make all that work.

When retail management finally took it's toll on my body, I pursued a position in computer programming, which led me to monitoring incoming financial data for system cohesion for a large third-party credit-card processor (but, they have apps for that now).

After leaving that position, I worked for a time processing claims for the Duck (ALAC) and finally tried my hand at tax processing with H&R Block.

I retired, or rather, gave up looking for work, when I inherited enough money to live on.

My biggest joy these days, aside from my adorable little dog and even more than the BBCs, is being as much of a philanthropist as I can be.

I am now enjoying 'Retirement' after my hip replacement surgery.
