Default I got ripped off and want the whole world to know

Posted By: warshawlaw

I just got the last N28 boxer I needed for my set and I am devastated. The card is graded 7.0 by PRO (I know, I know) and it is BLATANTLY TRIMMED on the left side. I could not see it from the somewhat blurry scan, but I can really see it in person. The card clearly tapers at the bottom left and has a discernably crisper, cleaner edge there. It is also 1/32" too narrow and the typical edge chipping is present on two of the four edges. ebay item #1019355084, if you are curious. I am posting this warning to people to STAY AWAY FROM PRO-GRADED CARDS. They are pure ****. I have spoken to a number of others who have received blatantly trimmed PRO cards from other sellers.

Also, the seller of this lot, "tigercardsonline", is a real peach (i.e., a rotten fruit). Rather than standing behind his product, his response to my refund request is as follows: "I PURCHASED THE CARD IN GRADED FORM, I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL ON GRADING NOR ON DEMPSEY CARDS BUT THE CARD WAS AS ADVERTISED AND SENT AS AGREED ACCORDING TO AUCTION RULES. IF YOU FEEL THE CARD IS ANYTHING BUT WHAT I ADVERTISED PLEASE CONTACT THE GRADING COMPANY AND SEE WHAT THEY SAY AND LET ME KNOW BECAUSE I FEEL IT'S 100% AS ADVERTISED. AGAIN I AM NO EXPERT BUT I PURCHASED A PRO 7 GRADED DEMPSEY ROOKIE AND SOLD IT AS SUCH IN ACCORDANCE WITH EBAY RULES AND LEGAL BINDING AUCTION AGREEMENTS YOU ENTERED INTO WITH ME BY WINNING MY AUCTION." So he is "not a professional" and "no expert"?? Then why the hell is he selling as one? The card also was not as advertised, as he clearly and repeatedly called it near mint in his ad. He added his opinion to the grading service's opinion. If he is no expert, why doesn't he SHUT UP. Sorry to yell, I'm just really pissed.

I should have known there was something up when I called his number (as listed in the UPS package) to complain. Someone answered and asked me to hold on. I could hear her clearly in the background telling the seller that the buyer of the Dempsey was on the line and him telling her to tell me he was not there. Stay away from this piece of crap seller.

By the way, if anyone wants a trimmed Dempsey cheap, I may have one available . . .
