Default 1920s Hand Cut Strip Cards

Posted By: identify7

I have recently purchased three w514s and I think they compliment my other cards quite well. They sure are different.

What I like best about them is their distinctive (ie. poor quality to most) design and their curious (ie. poorly cut) shapes.

It seems that some kids felt that no borders looked best, while others preferred margins around the picture. I agree with the no margin view - to me they look best that way. The grading companies disagree.

Some kids were not too competent with scissors, or didn't care. I find these to be a quaint part of baseball card Americana. The grading companies disagree.

Seems that to me there are bargains to be had, unless the grading companies rule my preferences. But they don't - they make my bargains. Thoughts?
