robI won a couple lots, but was a little disturbed how it all went down. Fake e-mails, delayed responses etc, while it did not really affect me too much, it became more of a hassle than enjoyment.
My guess is consignors were hurt in this whole situation and the adverse affect could be felt in their future auctions with fewer consigments. Just my guess as to the possible fallout of this "fiasco". But with so much competition out there and consistent high prices garnered by the proven, larger houses, this could be troublesome for H&S.
That being said, they run a nice business and I would be disappointed if this were the case since they are great communicators and professional, but if they dont get great prices, that is the bottom line.
