I have bought things twice on eBay where the shipping was outrageous... last one was an old metal car, a Dinky Toy. The guy wanted about 4 times the selling price to ship. So I finally just paid the purchase price only via Paypal, and told him NOT to ship the car, instead give it to a kid next time he went to church.
Since then I always email up front when shipping is not listed.
