Scott -- Yes, I think the Bob Feller pin is 40s vintage.
Al -- Here is an original sheet of what I guess would be called printer's proofs for pins -- on there are several baseball pins including one with the same photo as your 1924 Walter Johnson, but I think made for a different version with a facsimile autograph and no pennant winners graphics.
