I got my PO box for some of the exact reasons you've mentioned.
I used to have to wait a day or two and then drive to the post office and wait in the line.

No lines. You can choose the location where you want your PO Box.
My regular Post office is too far away, but the box is very close.
If I have an oversized package they throw it in the locker right in the lobby.
