Here are a couple of unusual items I own that document the career of Casey Stengel.
This one is a letter from the Brooklyn Dodgers, letting Casey know he's got to take a pay cut:
And here are some postcards Casey received from fans before the 1934 Dodgers' fabled series against the Giants. The fans were rooting hard for Brooklyn to win and refute Bill Terry's question from earlier in the season as to whether or not Brooklyn was still in the league. Brooklyn won both games, enabling the Cardinals to win the pennant. Casey saved dozens of these letters - who says that "bulletin board" talk doesn't have an impact on pro athletes?
