In that conversation with Ashburn, I took notes and "3.0 secs" is exactly
what he told me. I never doubted his time, since I remember numbers like
3.3 to 3.6 for a many of the "speedy" major leaguers of that period.

So, whose facts are you questioning....Richie Ashburn, the sportswriters,
or me ? ?
