Default Beckett's policy regarding vintage rookie cards

Posted By: Dylan

I dont know if this has been discussed but apparently Beckett is now listing Babe Ruth's 1933 Goudey card as his rookie card. According to Beckett for a card to qualify as a rookie card it has to come from a "mainstream" set. I think this is ridiculous. For one thing Babe Ruth had been in the league for 19 years by the time his '33 Goudey card was released. What exactly qualifies as mainstream anyways, pretty subjective. So According to Beckett if a player has a card from t206, t205, or Goudey it automaticaly becomes that players rookie card no matter what? Huh??
