Default The Oldest Living Major Leaguer??

Posted By: James Feagin

Age and longevity have always seemed to fascinate me. In the baseball realm, this became of particular interest when while trying to get several 1952 Topps autographed through the mail, the majority of the players had passed on. I became curious whether any players from the 1934 Goudey set (my favorite) were still living. Much to my surprise, according to baseball-reference.com both Billy Werber (97) and Linus Frey (96) were alive and well. There aren't too many pre-war players still alive with cards. Immediately Bob Feller, Bobby Doerr, and Al Lopez also come to mind. Who is the oldest living major-leaguer? Where can I easily find out the answer to this question without doing hordes of research? I also remember reading an SCD in the mid-80's which stated the oldest living player from the t206 set had passed away. Anyone know who that was? Like I said, for some reason this fascinates me, and I'm looking for resources.
