Thank, guys. My collection focuses on key sportscards, especially RCs of those who have achieved excellence on the field. To date my only Prewar issues are a 1932 US Caramel Ruth and 1933 Goudey Gehrig. I am going to try and keep my prewar additions to lower to mid-grade, so as to add a greater variety of cards and players. The ones I'm looking at first are:

Cracker Jack Cobb
M101-4 Joe Jackson
E95 Wagner
T206 Cobb Bat Off Shoulder & Green Portrait
Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig cards

I hope to be able to keep my cards forever (I'll be happy to be buried with them if my son or daughter doesn't get in to them like I am, lol), so I look for the issues that appeal to me aesthetically and then consider how well they'll hold value, should I ever have to sell.

Cards are a major source of joy, decompression, and mellowing-out for me; I view them as a special combination of art, history, and-- in a sense-- time travel. I love seeing scans of great cards and talking cards with fellow collectors.

Best,

MIC
