Any auction for a $30,000 item that has to recount for an entire catalog page the circumstances of Lou Gehrig's tragic death or the circumstances of Babe Ruth's upbringing. Or Jackie Robinson breaking the color line. I realize a lot of people buying $45,000 pieces of cardboard may not know these interesting stories, but they are old news to some of us.
