1) Athletic Sports in America, by Henry Clay Palmer, 1889. 700+ page tome is the definitive recounting of the famous 1888-89 World Baseball Tour. High quality volume contains 4 color plates and numerous B&W, including team photos of every NL club. Books reveals cover wear and crack to front hinge; spine is reasonably tight and easy to read. Presentable Good/Very Good condition........SOLD

2) A Ball Player's Career, By Adrian C. Anson, 1900. Popular autobiography of the 19th century's greatest star, a bit self-serving but loaded with information, as well as numerous B&W plates. Clean copy exhibits sunning to the spine, bright green covers with some separation to front hinge, Very Good condition........$225

3) Baseballogy, by Edmund Vance Cooke, 1912. Attractive 88 page volume of baseball poetry, and a bit scarce. Tight copy with pencil notation on front endpaper (implying the original owner was friends with the author) as well as pencil notations throughout, Excellent condition...EBAY

4a) Richter's History and Records of Base Ball, by Francis Richter, 1914. Signed by the author. Terrific and scarce baseball history, with numerous B&W plates, inscribed on the front endpaper: "To James Annabie(?), with compliments of the author, Francis Richter, Phila., Pa., March 18, 1914." Clean copy with tight spine, some cover wear and soiling, VG+ condition. Desirable signed copy......$450

5) Commy, by G.W. Axelson, 1919. Satisfactory biography of baseball entrepreneur Charles Comiskey, written in the year of the scandal that would destroy his ballclub. Numerous B&W plates. Solid copy with damp staining to the cover, previous owner's stamp on front endpaper, Good condition. No dustjacket......EBAY

6) Who's Who in Major League Baseball, by Speed Johnson, 1933. One of the most beautiful baseball books ever made, with photos and biographies of virtually every major league player, sportswriter, oldtimer, etc. A superb volume. Clean copy missing blank front endpaper, otherwise Excellent condition. A classic........$225
