The key word is "Guide"

SCD (Krause) Standard Catalog is the best for info on vintage cards and as a guide (est.) of their values. Beckett is for new stuff.

Crazy people with thick wallets paying crazy $$ will screw up any guides accuracy. This is true for any collectible.
