The OP, as I understand it, believes this is the home of the original collector, dating the house to pre-1920. Yes there are still homes that age, particularly in the NE, but the number of them left is relatively low...my guess would be less than 10 million. Then how many of those have a 100 year old hidden baseball card collection in them that has gone unfound by x number of home owners over a century only to magically be discovered by a card collector? So yes, I am a bit surprised by, as you pointed out, the frequency of these finds.

Again, I don't know the OP and have no reason not to believe his story, but I think the odds are a lot lower than you make them out to be.
