I am still puzzled by the fact that he escaped the "justice" being dispensed by Judge Landis and was never banned from the game for life even though he was blacklisted. To suggest that Landis concluded it wasn't worth the trouble to ban Chase seems out of character for the mercurial Commissioner and showman of the bench."
