The notes I have in my mark-up copy of the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards indicates that in recent months three different "common" player cards in EX sold for about 2X the price quoted.
The statues don't attract the big bucks because you can't put them in a 9-pocket sheet or have them slabbed for a player registry set
