The Ebay's bidding system seem somewhat controlled at least you can view and notice shill bidding... Or could this all be due to two collectors battling it out for one extremely rare card!!!

I know Heritage well and no, they don't shill bid, or at least I have never seen anything making me think that. Most likely once one person had theirs they weren't in the hunt anymore. That is the main problem with really rare issues. Many times the market is so thin it only takes one person to drop out and the price goes way down. That is also the reason that realized prices need to be taken with a grain or two of salt. All imho..
