HOF signed rookies are very much an entity unto their own. The Stargell rookie is incredibly tough to find signed. I am casually trying to complete a signed Stargell run and went balls to the wall on the only vintage period signed example I had ever seen and likely the only one that exists. This one beat my record setting purchase by some 50%. If I had to guess, I would say there are maybe 10 examples known to exist. There are FFFFAAAARRRR more than 10 people collecting HOF signed rookie cards. Thus I am not necessarily surprised by this price.

Just as an FYI....the 1964 signed Stargell I am finding even tougher to locate than the rookie was!
