Hi James-

The link didn't work for me, but I was just reading about an English scientist, Sir Francis Galton, who was the cousin of Charles Darwin. He studied fingerprints and in 1892 he published a book on their classification. In 1902 fingerprinting was adopted by Scotland Yard (the system they used before that was based off of an 11 point measurement system of body parts ).
