Mike Gidwitz and I used to have some long conversations (since
we shared a common interest in un-cut sportscard sheets) and
when he acquired the aforementioned Wagner for $600,000 several
years ago, he told me it would be the first Million dollar card.
And, sure enough he got a Million for it.
What you are saying is certainly realizable in this present day
economy. The Stock Market is up and more importantly the Real
Estate market is booming so there is a lot of Equity capital
out there. And, you are right if some overpaid celebrity or two
wants part of this sportscard action, who knows what the limit
is.
