Frank WakefieldWell after reading Mr. James' comments about Ed in his first Historical Baseball Abstract, I became fascinated with Ed. I found an article about him in a 1915 Baseball Magazine, and I'll mail a copy to folks who're sincerely interested in Ed. After reading it, it seems that baseball management and ownership were down on him for organizing players against the owners. But for that, he'd have played a few more years, I think, would have pitched a bit more the last few years he played, and he would be in the Hall now. Before anyone takes exception to that, go read Bill James' words about Ed.
