, that is a great piece Rob picked up. The November 11th Hunt auction was a gold mine for 19th century collectors interested in Deacon White material or any of the teams Deacon played for including Detroit. I had my sights set on a couple lots including #846, a collection of 4 Deacon White cabinet cards. I did win that lot and expect them to arrive soon. In the meantime, Hunt shared some scans with me.
The following is one of my favorite poses of Deacon. The cabinet studio advertising on back is also interesting with an interesting depiction of the equipment photographers worked with during the 1880s. You can make out the camera on the tripod, a beaker, a tray, a lantern, and other smaller items.
Most of the Fearnaught cabinet cards offered by Hunt had some light back damage, luckily my favorite pose is pretty clean.
