Jerry SpillmanI am aware of just three players that have green mount SL cabinets. Lajoie, Waddell and Wallace. Possibly the accelerated demand for the early cabinets was greater than the supply of the regular tan mounts and the green mounts were used as temporary substitutes. Undoubtly there were other players that have green mount cabinets but I have no report of any.
Although Louis Castro had a very short major league career he played on the 1902 American League Champion Philadelphia Athletics. This is likely the reason that more of his cabinets were purchased than would have been otherwise. There are other Louis Castro SL cabinet survivors.
Louis Castro is a record price paid for a common player as far as I know. Could it be his name?
